The Asset Maintenance & Performance (AMP) Tech is responsible for performing technical services for existing customers, providing assistance to initiate sales to new customers and industries and increasing sales of PTL Commercial & Industrial offerings. Class A CDL required. Equipment used: ¾ to 1 ton pickup truck, bumper pull and gooseneck trailer.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Provide technical services for Commercial & Industrial Customers a. Perform coolant flush and hydraulic filtration services on customer locations. Take samples and report particle count and contamination findings into presentation for customer's preventative maintenance program. Computer knowledge needed.
b. Train customer personnel and most especially personnel on rigs associated with the AMP program in sampling technique, sample label preparation and report interpretation.
c. Obtain used oil and coolant samples from engines, mud pumps, rotary tables, top drives and other equipment. This includes any drilling rigs serviced by PTL in that require sampling assistance or rigs on the AMP program.
d. Tank Monitor install and repair on customer locations.
e. Equipment repair (pumps, hoses, etc.) on PTL and Customer locations.
f. Fabricate and install lube/chemical dispensing systems for drilling contractors and customer shops.
g. Conduct rig inspections and audits along with the associated reports.
h. Assist with performing engine inspections using the borescope and other means.
i. Assist with fuel tank sampling
j. Provide technical information.
2. Work actively to improve gross profit of all sales
a. Add value through technical service offerings.
b. Promote value of PTL products and services.
3. Provide necessary documentation (field paper work and delivery tickets) to Office Personnel in an accurate and timely manner.
Typical Minimum Education & Experience
High School diploma or GED
Must have Class A CDL
1-3 years of experience as a mechanic with Hydraulic filtrations knowledge
Basic understanding of: oil changes, minor maintenance on vehicles, coolant flushing, tanks and pumps
Willing to travel 5 to 6 days a week and/or overnight stays (15-20%)
Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Able to write routine reports and correspondence.
Able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Able to apply concepts of basic algebra.
Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Heavy physical effort (up to 100 pounds).
Hearing, talking, walking, periods of prolonged sittings.
