Position Summary:

The Operational Efficency Manager will be responsible for analyzing and documenting organizational business problems, processes and requirements, identifying opportunities for improvement, and working with company subject matter experts to recommend solutions to improve the business. This role will be a key change facilitator within the company and deliver effective solutions which provide tangible business benefits within measurable timelines. The person must be a great communicator, thinker and problem solver, with the ability to understand and respond to user needs in rapidly changing business environment and should be able to operate under general or minimum supervision. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an Operations efficiency organizational structure capable of supporting the business plan and initiatives of the organization.
  • Plans and deploys training to support the organization's goals and objectives in excellence, and customer satisfaction.
  • Must work consistently to maintain safe and healthy working conditions, to adhere to proper operating practices and procedures designed to prevent injury and illness and to observe Federal, State, local, and overall regional company safety and health regulations. Must reflect an interest in company safety and health objectives and required to set a good example by always observing the rules as a part of the normal work routine. 
  • Study, investigates, and recommends new or leading edge technologies, methods, tools and procedures on the fields of manufacturing engineering, quality assurance, and continuous improvement to proactively address changes in the business environment. 
  • Develop and analyze statistical data and product / process specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability requirements for the finished product.
  • Facilitates meetings with management to review and examine project progress.
  • Displays continuously the characteristics of a change leader in the organization.
  • Develops and trains teams utilizing lean, continuous improvement, project management and business integration tools and concepts.
  • Coordinate the formation of high performance teams in a transportation environment.
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts to develop scorecards and metrics for the high performance team process. Review and recommend changes as necessary to meet organizational objectives

Typical Minimum Education & Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree preferred with 5 years of experience in Operations or Financial analytics environment.
  • Experiencein transportation industry strongly preferred, with exposure to fuel/lubricant product distribution desired; if Marine position, exposure to marine operations (e.g., docks, ports) preferred
  • StrongMicrosoftExcelskillsand proficiency in Word and Outlook; knowledge of financial software preferred (e.g., MAS, SAP, JD Edwards)
  • Experience training others on job components and working in a transportation setting
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to facilitate cross-functional, cross-business unit teams.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in ambiguous situations.
  • Position located in Ft Worth with possible relication to other business segments as advancements become available.
  • Enjoys the challenge of a difficult problem and demonstrates ability to solve a variety of problems with immediate and effective solutions; asks good questions to isolate
  • Knows when to solve problems on own and when to consult others for support; can differentiate a small problem from a large oneandtakeappropriate
  • Identifiesproblems;determinesaccuracyandrelevancyofinformation;usessoundjudgmenttogenerateandevaluatealternativesandmake
  • Canlook at reports and other data and notice anomalies; is able to spot inconsistencies and correct or explain variances

Working Conditions:

  • Extended schedule may be required as dictated by management and business
  • May be required to lift, push, or pull materials weighing up to twenty (20)
  • May be required to sit and review information on a computer screen for long periods of time
  • May require repetitive motions of the hands and wrist related to writing and typing at an electronic
  • Travel required up to 50%
